Laura E. McSwiggin is a partner at Epport, Richman & Robbins, LLP, heavily experienced in the practice of complex litigation. With over ten years of experience in finance and banking, and an additional fifteen years of experience in litigation, Ms. McSwiggin's practice includes commercial, financial and employment litigation for major local and national clients. Ms. McSwiggin regularly represents officers and directors of corporations with breach of fiduciary duty and corporate governance disputes. In addition, she has substantial experience in the realm of employment litigation including wrongful termination disputes, employment discrimination disputes, sexual harassment disputes, and compensation plan disputes. Ms. McSwiggin is often asked to advise companies of all sizes on internal procedures/policies regarding employee hiring, termination, severance, and benefits negotiations.
Education:
Ms. McSwiggin received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science, Communications and Economics in 1988, from the University of Southern California, and a Juris Doctor, from Loyola Marymount University in 1992. While at Loyola Ms. McSwiggin was member of the Scott Moot Court Competition, received American Jurisprudence Awards in Trial Advocacy and Family Law - Community Property and was a member of the Order of the Coif.
Admissions:
Ms. McSwiggin was admitted to the California State Bar in 1992. She is licensed to practice law in all California and federal courts in the State of California and the United States Supreme Court.
